Pink lichen (Zhiber’s illness, pityriasisrosea) is now considered a viral infection and is associated with herpesvirus types 6 and 7. More than 75% of cases occur in people aged 10-35 years. High incidence is observed in the fall and spring. Up to 68.8% of patients have symptoms of a previous viral infection.
- Viral infections.
- Herpes viruses.
- Reactions caused by medications
- Vaccines.
The main clinical picture and often the only one is the skin syndrome. In about 80% of patients, the first manifestation of pink lichen is a "signal spot", which is a round or oval red spot with a peeling edge and a lumen in the center. During the first 2-3 weeks, new, smaller oval, moderately itchy rashes appear. Later, the rash stops, itching practically disappears, the rash stabilizes and disappears on its own within 1-2 months.
A consultation with a dermatologist is recommended for diagnosis and understanding of the clinical picture.
