Dandruff, where does it come from?

On our head there is a permanent resident - the fungus Malassezia furfur, which under certain conditions begins to multiply actively, secrete enzymes, undergoes a series of certain reactions and results in dandruff.

What are the conditions (provoking factors)?

  • Stress;
  • Alcohol;
  • Excessive consumption of food with a high glycemic index;
  • Incorrectly selected shampoo (including dry shampoo).

What is bad about it?

  • It is unaesthetic. This is a sign of ill health
  • Microinflammation forms around the hair follicle, which can lead to hair loss.

How to deal with it?

  • Healthy lifestyle: monitor nutrition, get enough sleep, avoid stress;
  • Proper care: wash your hair as often as necessary, the right products for you (not 3 in 1 for all family members)$
  • Medicinal shampoo with selenium disulfide in the composition (antifungal component).

Zinc pyrithione, which is part of most mass market shampoos and is also an antifungal component, is included in the CMR list - a list of substances that are carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic, and from March 2022 it will be a prohibited component of shampoos and creams (and these are the well-known Keto+ products , Dermazol+, Shamtu against dandruff, Schauma against dandruff, Head&Shoulders basic care....)

If it is not possible to cope with dandruff on your own with shampoo, and itching and redness still appear, then you should seek help from a doctor‼️

I wish there was a universal recipe for help for everyone. But, if all tried and tested drugs from the pharmacy do not help, it is obvious that an individual approach is needed. And although the problem is snow on the surface, it actually hides deeper.
