The skin scales of the stratum corneum, instead of exfoliating, accumulate around the hair follicle.  As a result, a "plug" is formed, which clogs the opening of the hair follicle.
This leads to the formation of dense miliary papules.
Sometimes it happens that they become inflamed, a common cause is hair growing inside the papules.

Symptoms:

  • Rashes are not painful, do not itch.
  • Red, pink color
  • It is accompanied by dryness of the skin, which worsens the course of FC.
  • Peeling is possible.
  • Non-contagious, not transmitted by contact.
  •  The most frequent localization is on the shoulders, hips and buttocks.  However, they can also be found on the face.  In this case, differential diagnosis of acne is required.

The condition worsens in the autumn-winter period (low temperature, dry air):

  • the skin dries up;
  • increase in the number of rash elements;

How to help?

  • Adequate cleansing (do not use soap, because it will make already dry skin even drier);
  • Use sponges, brushes, scrubbing agents during the shower (I think it is clear why);
  • Moisturizing with means containing keratolytic components (urea, lactic acid).  Their effect: they retain water in the skin cells well, make the horny cells soft and their further exfoliation is easy).
