Juvéderm Volite can be used to provide this type of hydration. It is an injectable hyaluronic acid-based product that helps retain moisture in the skin and improve its smoothness and elasticity. Juvéderm Volite allows you to address the skin quality of the face, neck, and hands as part of a personalized treatment plan.

Key Properties

Juvéderm Volite is an injectable gel based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid. It is used to hydrate the skin, improve its elasticity, and correct wrinkles. The composition of Juvéderm Volite is simple yet effective:

  • Hyaluronic acid – binds and retains water, helping to increase skin hydration and make the skin smoother and more elastic. Thanks to the cross-links between its molecules, it breaks down more slowly than non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid.
  • Lidocaine – a local anesthetic that reduces discomfort during product injection and makes the procedure more comfortable.
  • Phosphate buffer with a pH of 7.2 – an auxiliary ingredient that helps maintain the gel’s acid-base balance.

Depending on the injection area, Juvéderm Volite helps improve the condition and appearance of the skin:

  • For the face – increases skin hydration, makes it smoother, and gives it a fresher appearance. Fine lines become less noticeable, and skin texture improves without altering facial features. It is important to understand that Juvéderm Volite is used by cosmetic doctors specifically for skin hydration. Other products in the range – Volbella, Volift, and Ultra – are designed for lip hydration and contouring, as well as for filling deep wrinkles and nasolabial folds.
  • For the neck – helps improve firmness and elasticity, reduce dryness, and improve the appearance of thin, “parchment-like” skin. Fine wrinkles and superficial horizontal lines may become less pronounced.
  • For the hands – hydrates and softens the skin and helps smooth fine wrinkles, giving the hands a well-cared-for appearance. If prominent veins and tendons are associated with a loss of tissue volume, the doctor may recommend additional treatment.

Indications by Treatment Area

JUVÉDERM is a range of injectable products designed to address a wide spectrum of aesthetic needs. Juvéderm Volite is injected into the dermis, helping to hydrate the skin from deep within and improve its overall quality. A cosmetic doctor may recommend Volite injections for the following indications:

  • dry, dull, dehydrated skin – to provide effective deep hydration, reduce the sensation and visible signs of dryness, and restore a fresher appearance;
  • loss of tone and firmness – to improve skin elasticity in the early stages of age-related changes;
  • fine lines, creases, and uneven skin texture – to soften superficial lines and improve skin smoothness;
  • photoaging – to address dryness, fine wrinkles, and deterioration in skin texture associated with prolonged sun exposure;
  • thin skin on the hands and neck – when the skin appears dry and wrinkled, resembles thin parchment, and requires additional deep hydration;
  • skin recovery after prolonged sun exposure, stress, or air travel – if the skin has lost its fresh appearance and become drier, the doctor will assess whether injectable hydration is appropriate.

Juvéderm Volite skin rejuvenation treatment can also be part of the preparation for an important event to improve the skin’s overall appearance. The procedure should be scheduled in advance to allow sufficient time for the results to develop and for any potential swelling or bruising to subside.

Contraindications

Before administering Juvéderm Volite by Allergan, the cosmetic doctor assesses the condition of the skin, asks about chronic medical conditions and allergic reactions, and reviews the patient’s medications. The procedure should not be performed under the following circumstances:

  • age under 18;
  • pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • allergy to any of the product’s ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, lidocaine, or other amide-type local anesthetics, as well as to bacterial proteins used in the production of hyaluronic acid;
  • active inflammation or infection at the injection site, including herpes outbreaks, inflammatory acne lesions, skin damage, or unhealed wounds;
  • a predisposition to hypertrophic or keloid scarring;
  • epilepsy;
  • porphyria;
  • autoimmune diseases in the active phase;
  • blood clotting disorders.

It is also essential to inform the doctor about the use of anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory medications, and other drugs, as they may increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. Relative contraindications may include the presence of permanent fillers, recently performed laser treatments, deep chemical peels, or dermabrasion.

Results

After Juvéderm Volite injections, the skin becomes more hydrated and smoother, its elasticity improves, and fine lines may become less noticeable. The results should be assessed approximately one month after the procedure, as this was the time point at which improvements in skin smoothness and hydration were recorded in a clinical study. The rate at which the first noticeable changes appear varies from person to person, so no definitive conclusions should be drawn immediately after the injections.

According to the study, improvements in skin smoothness may last up to 6 months, while the hydrating effect may last up to 9 months. The duration depends on the condition of the skin, the treatment area, and the body’s individual response to the procedure. The doctor determines whether repeat injections are necessary.

Juvéderm Volite before-and-after results vary from person to person. Photographs of other patients illustrate possible changes but do not guarantee the same effect for everyone.
